PARENTAL CONTROL OVER MEDIA CONSUMPTION IN SLOVAK FAMILIES

Introduction: A child’s upbringing begins with his/her birth as he/she gradually adapts to the current family habits and society, so that child is prepared for all circumstances. From birth, a perceives warmth, light, love of mother. They also perceive influence media, it is, therefore, desirable prepare children use them correctly safely. Children several types media source information, entertainment, leisure.
 Objectives: The study aims identify analyse adolescents’ consumption highlight parental control in Slovak families.
 Methods: data conducted an online questionnaire focusing on literacy mediation, which then distributed among pupils Slovakia.
 Results: finds boys spend most their time computer or laptop, common activity playing games. Connecting social networking sites chatting popular girls. mobile phones internet access both genders. Boys are found have more restrictions spent content consumed. Age wise, 11 12 year olds restrictive. For older pupils, there not much control.
